The Beaches are unique.  It is a lifestyle.  Here in Jacksonville the beaches area is actually an island.  You can reach the island one of four different ways.  Cross the St. Johns River on a Ferry in Mayport, cross the Intracoastal Waterway either on Atlantic or Beach Boulevard or come up from the south on A1A via the Intracoastal Waterway crossing in St. Augustine.  "Islander's" as they are affectionately called refer to everyone who makes the beaches their home.  It is world upon itself and it is part of everyday.
